FEES, REFERRALS & REBATES
Sessions are 50-minutes in duration, for a fee of $240 per session.
Please note you are welcome to attend privately without an external referral at any time.
MEDICARE

STANDARD MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN
To receive Medicare rebates for sessions, you will need to explore your eligibility for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) with your GP or psychiatrist prior to attending your session. If you are eligible, a referral letter for psychology sessions must be provided to your psychologist in order to obtain rebates.
The current rebate for a 50-minute session with a registered Clinical Psychologist is $141.85. This leaves a gap payment of $98.15. Please note that you will be required to pay the full session fee up-front (i.e., $240), and pursue Medicare rebates personally with your receipt for payment.
At present, up to 10 sessions in a calendar year are covered by Medicare rebates.
These are typically provided in a block of six sessions initially. To obtain the remaining four sessions, a new referral must be received from the referring GP or psychiatrist. It is also important to note that your psychologist will be required to provide your referring practitioner with a brief report of the progress of your treatment and related recommendations when Medicare rebates are being utilised.

OTHER MEDICARE MENTAL & HEALTH CARE PLANS/INITIATIVES
Medicare rebates for psychology sessions are also available for those eligible under an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), or via referral for Pregnancy Support Counselling.
The number of sessions covered, as well as the rebates available differ across each of these initiatives.
Again, you will need to explore your eligibility with your GP or psychiatrist prior to attending your session. If you are eligible, a referral letter for psychology sessions must be provided to your psychologist in order to obtain rebates.

PRIVATE HEALTH

If you have private health insurance, you may also be eligible for a rebate for psychology sessions.
These may be used as an alternative to Medicare rebates, or once Medicare rebates have been exhausted for the calendar year. For private health insurance rebates, you will need to confirm that your level of cover includes psychology sessions, as well as clarify the amount of cover you have, as well as any additional conditions that may be required to access these.
Please note that you will be required to pay the full session fee up-front (i.e., $240), and pursue health insurance rebates personally with your receipt for payment.

DVA & NDIS plans are also accepted.
